Alice in Wonderland Narrative Scene
4:12 PM |
Edit Post
In 2nd year we did yet another narrative of our choice (well we got to pick from a list). I did Alice in Wonderland.
This was another rough that I decided to not go with. I'll put the refined one too aswell. It's the scene at the end where she wakes up (after being attacked by cards) to find she was sleeping on her sisters lap. The cards would have seemed like they were fading away. It's a bit hard to read sometimes.
This was a more refined rough of the scene (*remind me to get that little rough). After I draw something in a linear way, If I'm still having trouble refining something, I'll often sculpt it (out of plastercine, though if you use that, don't let it near the paper you are drawing on unless you like stain glass). This project actually had us make a sculpture and a scene so I was able to do both things at the same time.
Here is a final grey scale. I'll update this post when I get to a bigger scanner because these pictures are not the greatest. I also have a colour version that I'm getting back, so when I get it I'll post it here. Her hair is brown and her dress is that well known light blue. The Chesire cat in mine is actually orange and white. For now here is a rough colour version.
Here is one of my very first roughs. This scene takes place when Alice is talking to the chesire cat. I first drew this out in a linear way just so I could know where everything would go. The other 2 pictures are the thumbs I did (Ithe linear one is here too). I know Alice usually is blonde and Carol wanted it that way (if I'm recalling this right). I always thought that if he wrote it for that one little girl (Liddell), he probably had her in mind when he was writing it. The design I did doesn't really resemble Liddell, but I thought I'd make her hair brown and short too.
